A well-deserved rest for the team this week, and fantastic to see a good roll up of players at training anyway.

2009 Season
September 12 Update
Another fantastic effort from the young Blues in the Grand Final. The team matched the strong Bathurst team in the second quarter, and even out-scored them in the final term in a determined display. The entire team did all that was asked of them, and came off the field fully spent. Congratulations to the Bathurst side on winning the title.
Bathurst Bushrangers	4.2 7.3 10.5 14.6 (90)
Cowra Blues 1.0 4.1 5.3 9.6 (60)
September 5 Update
Fantastic Preliminary Final win against the Tigers. Solid start to lead well at halftime. Orange fought back and the Blues looked gone at the final break, down by 2 goals. However, a full team effort in the final term saw the young Blues storm into the Grand Final, winning by 8 points.

August 29 Update
Solid semifinal performance to move to Preliminary Final against Orange. Angus McCormack outstanding in defence, Brad McLeish four quarter effort in mid-field, Nathan Coffee resolute at fullback in second half. Great team effort to close out game and keep Dubbo scoreless after leading by just 11 points at the start of the final quarter.

Dubbo Demons 1.0 2.0 4.1 4.1-25
August 22 Update
Early misses at goal again cost the Blues who could have led well at 1/4 time. The team battled on gamely throughout but fell to the Tigers who took second place on the ladder. Nathan Coffee had his best game for the season. Fantastic to see Mitch McCormack win the League goalkicking award.
Orange Tigers	2.0 6.2 8.2 12.4 (76)
Cowra Blues	2.7 2.10 4.13 6.14 (50)
August 15 Update
No footy - bye
August 8 Update
Blues didn’t take their early chances and fell away towards end of game. Injuries to Jason Spolding, Angus McCormack and Scott Leary didn’t help. Mitch McCormack and Jesse James among Cowra’s best.
Orange Tigers	3.3 3.8 6.13 11.14 (80)
Cowra Blues	1.2 1.4 2.7 3.7 (25)
1 August Update
Not the best game from the team this season. Jesse James probably the best in a lackluster performance against the Demons. Just the same, an important win to see the team remain in second position.
Cowra Blues	5.3 7.5 9.10 11.11 (77)
Dubbo Demons	3.1 6.1 7.4 11.8 (74)

Mudgee Black Swans	0.0 1.0 1.2 3.2 (20)
July 18 Update
No footy this week due to Mudgee forfeit.
July 11 Update
Strong win against a weakened Mudgee team. Jesse James has returned and looks a much stronger player than last year - will be handy as the finals approach. Mitch McCormack dominated play.
Cowra 24-17-161 Mudgee 14-10-94
July 4 Update
Fantastic effort by the boys with limited numbers in extreme conditions at Orange. After starting with 11 players against 12, the team lost a couple of players after quartertime to see just 9 players against 12 in the last three quarters. However, they still managed to hold a slender lead at the end of the third quarter, but were over-run in the final term with weight of numbers winning through. Mitch McCormack was strong, along with Brad McLeish and Nathan Coffee, while Jarrod Pulbrook scored two early goals in a great start.
Orange Tigers 2.1 6.2 7.4 10.13 (73)
Cowra Blues	4.2 4.3 7.5 7.5 (47)
June 27 Update
Bye this week
June 20 Update
The Blues enjoyed a 85 point win over a depleted Dubbo team, 14-17-101 to 2-4-16. Nic Collett made a welcome return with 4 goals in a solid team performance. Great games from Scott Leary with 2 goals, Jarrod Pulbrook, Brad McLeish and James McCormack.
June 13 Update
Again no local footy but a pie night at training on Thursday night kept spirits up.
June 6 Update
No club footy with the CWAFL rep team up against NRFL. The team struggled against a strong Northern Riverina outfit. Cowra player Mitchell McCormack was the Central West’s best on ground, while Brad McLeish and Angus McCormack kept trying all day.
May 30 Update
No footy this weekend
May 23 Update
The Blues struggled a bit early on with accurate kicking from the Bushrangers seeing a score blowout by halftime. Cowra were much better in the second half with Mitch McCormack and Brad McLeish multiple goal kickers. Solid hitout from first-gamer Adrian Slattery, Nathan Coffee showed plenty of promise, James McCormack strong game in defence.
Bathurst Bushrangers	6.1 12.2 15.2 20.6 (126)
Cowra Blues 0.0 2.1 7.3 8.4 (52)
May 16 Update
Mudgee unable to field a team so no game this week but hopefully a ‘catch-up’ game will be played later in season - stay tuned for more details.
Players to be nominated for rep teams shortly.
May 9 Update
A little undermanned against Bathurst who played 13 players to Cowra’s 10 for most of the game. Cowra didn’t take its chances in the opening term, while the ‘Rangers kicked 5 goals straight. 6 more goals in the second term saw the game pretty well over by halftime, but the Blues battled well in the second half.
Good to have Jason Spolding and Nathan Coffee on board from the local Auskick ranks. Mitchell McCormack tried hard all day, with Brad McLeish and Jarrod Pulbrook good contributors.
Bathurst Bushrangers	5.0 11.1 11.9 13.14 (92)
Cowra Blues	1.1 1.2 1.4 1.4 (10)
May 2 Update
Nuggety defender Angus McCormack is the 2 May Player of the Week with an outstanding effort against the Dubbo Demons.
His Under 14s side had a rare win at Dubbo in a high quality game.
Angus starred across the halfbackline, and set up plenty of Cowra's goals running the ball out of defence.
Big efforts also from Scott Leary in defence and James McCormack in the forward line.
Final score was 18-13-121 to 11-2-68.

September 2 update
Grand Final - slow start against Bathurst and never really recovered but great comeback in last quarter for nail-biting 5 point loss. Fantastic season from the team just the same. Plenty of promising players unearthed to assure future of junior footy in Cowra. Great results throughout season heavily contributed to Club Championship. Congratulations to coaches Nikiya Moss and Kim Reid.

Not everyone available for the trip to Dubbo but a fantastic effort by the team we had. The Demons are in a re-building phase and will be stronger in future years. The players followed their coach’s instructions and played some great footy. Starbuck, Harvey, Blinman and Kennedy among Cowra’s best. Young Brad Reid kicked 5 goals and is a player of the future.
July 29 update Award - Tyson Abbott
Bathurst are currently second on the ladder and were solid in defence restricting Cowra to just one goal in the first term. However the Blues gradually got on top in a hard game to win by 39 points. Brad Reid kicked a great goal, Jamie Chapman did some good things, Sarah Taylor played well.
